Abstract

Contemporary conceptions on wooden architecture conservation as exemplified by the Temple of Diana in the Park-and-palace complex of the Royal Łazienki Museum. The article presents the results of conservation works, performed in the Temple of Diana in the Royal Łazienki. A conservation inspection was performed to determine the state of preservation of the object. Wood-decaying factors causing damage to the Temple were determined. On this basis, a conservation program was established by making a classification of the damaged elements depending on their state of preservation. Some were left and chemically protected, others had to be replaced with new elements. Contemporary methods and means used in the conservation works in the object were described.
