Abstract
In present work paper, the authors broach a theme of top modernity concerning the fish and other aquatic organisms’ quality, in the context of more and more demand from the consumers’ side. To put into evidence the meat quality proceeded from fishes and other aquatic organisms, were effected physical-chemical studies to emphasize the value of some parameters and their evolution depending on species, age and body weight. Also, were done comparisons between fish meat quality and other provenance sources respectively meat from farm animals. The obtained results put into evidence superior qualitative values of aquatic organism meat to those terrestrial ones, especially as regard the protein and decreased fat content. The researches emphasized also the fact that meat production indices have an evolution in direct correspondence with body weight and age on the one hand, and on the other one, they are different also depending on species, those predacious ones having superior values in all cases. Other studied aquatic organisms, unless fishes, have emphasized a very reduced content of fats and carbohydrates that reveals the especial biological and chemical value, in conditions of alimentary components’ demand to provide a rational alimentation and an alimentary insurance.

Efficiency of various flocculants in harvesting the green microalgae Tetraselmis tetrahele (Chlorodendrophyceae: Chlorodendraceae)
This study showed the efficiency of various compounds in flocculating cultures of the microalgae Tetraselmis tetrahele (G. S. West, 1916) for use as potential biodiesel feedstock. Of the five flocculants tested, NaOH and...
The effect of feeding frequency on growth performance of rainbow trout fingerlings reared in recirculating system.
Growth, feed consumption and conversion ratios of trout fingerlings (Oncorhynchus mykiss) subjected to daily feeding frequencies were evaluated. The trial performed using 295 fish with a mean weight of 5.53±0.25 g divide...
Identification of Carassius gibelio migration patterns in Europe
The current short paper is a summary of a wider research on identification of Carassius gibelio migration patterns in Europe using mitochondrial markers. Haplotypes distribution was correlated with geographical origin of...
The See-thru guppy: a transparent fish model
The guppy has the major classes of chromatophores found in teleosts: xantho-erythrophores, iridophores and melanophores. These color cells render the adult body essentially opaque. A transparent guppy was developed, the...
Feeding ecology of knout goby (Mesogobius batrachocephalus Pallas, 1814) from the Romanian Black Sea (Agigea – Eforie Nord area).
The present study investigates the variations in the feeding ecology of the knout goby (M.batrachocephalus). The index of relative importance indicated opportunistic feeding on macrobenthic fauna. The fish fed mainly on...
