CONTROL OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF FUTURE TEACHERS OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES IN THE HIGHER PEDAGOGICAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS OF UKRAINE (end XX - beginning XX сеnt.)

Abstract
The author of the article summarizes the requirements for the organization of effective control in the process of training future teachers of foreign languages. The process of approving the main forms and methods of knowledge control is monitoring, that are used in modern higher educational institutions. There are scientific works which highlight the control function constitutes a special value in the context of the affected issues. Control, first of all, should contribute to the implementation of learning objectives. The implementation of a certain type of control occurs by choosing an appropriate form of control. It is noted that teachers and methodologists of the study period identified the following types of control in the system of training future teachers of foreign languages: preliminary (output, zero), current (intermediate, fluent), thematic, boundary (periodic), final (final). This classification of types of control is based on the features of didactic tasks at the relevant stages of the educational process, therefore, the system of types of control reflects the structural structure of the educational process of the period under study. The requirements for the control are analyzed, it is noted that the implementation of a certain type of control occurs by selecting an appropriate form of control. The role of tests in the process of teaching a foreign language is characterized. Criterion-oriented tests are especially popular for conducting current and final control of students' knowledge, which are based on logical-psychological structures and psychological associations. It emphasizes the need to study certain aspects of the experience of organizing the control of students' knowledge and to rethink it from the modern position of reforming teacher education.
