Creating spatial awareness among preschool children

Abstract
The aim of the article is to show the role of spatial awareness development in pre-school children on the basis of conducted research during the implementation of the scientific and educational project “Poznan Academy of Space – perception of the environment and its impact on our lives” in spring and summer of 2017. In work were used two research methods: free targeted interviews and questionnaire surveys. The article was divided into two main parts. It is preceded by an introduction in which the motives of taking up the topic were discussed, and the methodology of the research was approximated. The first part is the theoretical chapter, which is designed to explain to the reader the key concepts and considerations about the characteristics of the child in pre-school age and the perception of space. The second part is the presentation of research results on the essence of spatial education of pre-school children in the opinion of respondents.
