Culture of Daily Newspapers in Mizoram

Abstract
Mizoram is one of the hilly logged tribal states of Northeast India. It is located in the southern most part of Mizoram having common international borders with Bangladesh in the west and Myanmar in the east. The main objective of the study is to map the culture of dailies in Mizoram. The main research questions of the study are 1. to study the nature of dailies in Mizoram. 2. To find out the nuances of civil society as political economic factors shaping news culture of Media in Mizoram and 3. to analyze the content and style of dailies in Mizoram. Qualitative research method will be used in this study. As research studies on this particular topic is very few and to have an in-depth understanding of the proposed topic, qualitative research method will be used. The primary and secondary data was collected by observation, available literature and intensive interviews to study the first and third objective. To study the second objective, the intensive interviews were conducted with various journalists, Editors, and Publishers of various Media houses. After scanning the scenario of media channels in Aizawl, there is a great potential for improvement and progress.
