DEFINING THE LARSON-MILER PARAMETER FOR A NEW ALLOY STEEL
Journal Title: RECENT - Year 2010, Vol 11, Issue 1
Abstract
This article shows how the Larson-Miler parameter could be defined through tests and then used to prognosticate the time to rupture for materials, working for a long time at a constant load and elevated temperatures. The necessary theoretical information, the methodology for carrying out the experiment and the approach to the experimental results processing are provided. The methodology exposed has been demonstrated with a practical study of a new alloy steel. Being relatively simple, the proposed approach can be always used when such a prognosis is needed, provided that the Larson-Miler criterion is suitable for the studied material.

Implementation of PWM Soft Single Switched DC-DC Converters with Coupled Inductors
This paper proposes a novel family of pulse width modulation of soft-single-switched dc-dc converters without high voltage and current stresses. These converters do not require any extra switch to achieve soft switching,...
Experimental Evaluation of Competitiveness of Logistics Equipment
This study presents an examination of an experimental evaluation of the competitiveness of a typical representative of logistics equipment – forklifts with internal combustion engines (ICE forklifts), including assessing...
A Newton - Euler Approach to the Freely Suspended Load Swinging Problem
The present article is dedicated to the creation of a mathematical model for solving the problem of swinging of a freely suspended load, the pivot point of which moves along a known, spatial, time dependent or position d...
Equipment for Heat Treatment with the Use of Technologies of Super-High-Frequency and Electrical Contact Technique of Heating
The paper presents results of the development of equipment for heat treatment with the use of technologies of microwave and electrical contact methods of heating. The device for the combined frying of culinary products a...
Robot Collision Avoidance Using Programming through Imitation
This paper deals with the collision avoidance of the cooperative robots using the programming through imitation. Each physical robot acts fully independently, communicating with corresponding virtual prototype and imitat...
