DEMOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTION OF THE DISEASE GRAHANI (MAL ABSORPTION SYNDROME) AND ITS EVALUATION BASED UPON ETIO-PATHOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE

Abstract

Ayurveda has its own philosophy and its unique approach. It has given good definition for health and disease “Vikaro dosha vaishamyam, dosha samyam arogata” i.e., Tridosha if get vitiated alone or together results in disease. So, Ayurveda suggests the physician to keep in equilibrium of these tridosha through medicines as well as wholesome diet and habits. The disease ‘Grahani’is the effect of improper diet and habits. Now- a-days altered life style also has much impact on this patho-physiology.The seasonal effects, education level,economical status also have significant role over the illness. Based upon the aetiological factors varied symptomatology is also observed and is evident from the survey work. This paper discusses these details in this write up.
