DESIGNING VIDEO-BASED TASKS FOR COMMUNICATIVE CLASSROOM

Abstract

This article explores the principles behind working with video materials, short film in particular, in language learning and presents effective teaching strategies for the communicative classroom. Now with the development and popularity of online video distribution websites, as well as smart mobile filming devices, film provides authentic settings and an accurate presentation of language in use. The author pays close attention to the film image and film dialogue in language teaching. The paper outlines a number of techniques and approaches of using short film in modern language learning and offers online resources for activities available for getting the most out of film in the classroom.
