DETERMINATION OF THE HYDROLYTIC ACTIVITY OF WHOLE SALIVA USING CHITOSAN ASCORBATE AS A SUBSTRATE
Journal Title: Progress on Chemistry and Application of Chitin and its Derivatives - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue
Abstract
The aim of this work was to evaluate of hydrolytic activity of whole saliva using chitosan ascorbate as a substrate. In this aim, the concentrations of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine were determined in saliva before addition of chitosan ascorbate, directly after addition and during incubation with chitosan ascorbate by 20 hrs. In this in vitro study were used sterile chitosan ascorbate in the form of powder. Chitosan was obtained from krill chitin. The ratio of ascorbic acid to chitosan was 1:1. The unstimulated whole saliva showed the hydrolytic activity in the presence of the chitosan ascorbate as a substrate

THIRTY YEARS OF PROGRESS IN CHITIN AND CHITOSAN
Although Braconnot’s discovery of chitin preceded Payen’s discovery of cellulose by almost 30 years, and the amount of chitin produced annually by biosynthesis is not that much less than cellulose, the industrial applica...
INFLUENCE OF NANOSILVER ON THERMAL STABILITY OF CHITOSAN
Nanoadditives for polymers have many valuable features: e.g. the ability to change the properties of polymers: mechanical strength, stability and heat resistance and resistance to radiation. These properties make them an...
ADSORPTION OF CADMIUM IONS ON CHITOSAN MEMBRANES: KINETICS AND EQUILIBRIUM STUDIES
The presence of toxic heavy metals in industrial wastewater is a serious pollution problem. The ability of chitosan membranes as an adsorbent for cadmium ions in aqueous solution was studied. Experiments were carried out...
