DETERMINATION OF THE SLIDE BEARING FRICTION COEFFICIENT ON THE BASIS OF HEAT BALANCE
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2011, Vol 240, Issue 6
Abstract
In the paper an energetic method of friction coefficient determination in a slide cooperation of a bush and pivot is presented. The main parameter of the sliding pair energetic balance variations was the heat resistance of the pair elements. The measure of the sliding pair heat variations were measurements of temperature increment in the steel pivot and bushes. At the same time, the friction torque was measured in the assumed conditions of the technical dry friction. Temperature, friction torque, and heat resistance values of selected friction pairs in a steady state operation (steady in time torque and temperature) allowed the researchers to determine the kinetic friction coefficient of the tested bearing. The procedure of the experiment is described, the results of tests are listed in a table, and the final conclusions are formulated.
