DICOM Image Enhancement of Mammogram Breast Cancer

Abstract
Mammogram breast cancer images have the ability to help oncologist in detecting disease caused by cells normal growth. Developing algorithms and software to analyze these images may also help oncologist in their daily work. During this study we dell with DICOM images which has become a standard for medical imaging. Its purpose is to standardize digital medical imaging and data for easy access and sharing. There are many commercial viewers which support DICOM image format and can read metadata, but image displaying is not always optimal. The DICOM images suffer from a poor contrast quality and noises. While the image is enhanced, the speckle noise present in the images is also enhanced so we need to remove the noise from the image before improving the contrast of image [1]. In this paper we employ a new method for correct displaying, denoising and enhancement the contrast of DICOM images concentrating on breast images.
