DIGITAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL INSIDE AN ENCLOSURE. THE HARDWARE AND SOME EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS
Journal Title: ANALELE UNIVERSITATII DIN CRAIOVA - Seria Inginerie electrica - Year 2010, Vol 34, Issue 34
Abstract
The paper deals with an experimental hardware platform designed to implement and test different control algorithms for the temperature inside a thermal enclosure. The equipment was designed in a modular way and its main part is a CISC microcontroller. The results from a previous modelling study give some useful data and relations for the realtime implementation. In order to exploit all the software and hardware features of the control processor and to have a fast execution of the program, the authors preferred the assembly programming. The main hardware design elements are presented: the processor board, the acquisition unit, the drivers, the power supply block and the displaying part. The experimental platform includes the digital controller (equipment), a logic analyzer with a dedicated supplementary pod and two computers. In this extended form, the system is prepared for a complex debugging and represents a powerful education tool too. The program allows the implementation of any kind of control algorithm. The experimental results prove the functionality of the platform. The quality of these results is supported also by the on-line recordings both for the characteristic variables of the system and for the real-time tasks. These last diagrams confirm a good online timing and allow precise quantitative evaluations.

VALIDATION OF NUMERICAL INVERSION METHOD FOR LAPLACE TRANSFORM
Currently there are several numerical methods for inverting the Laplace transform (ILT) but not all of them are used in electrical engineering. The main difficulty regarding the electric circuits is, among others, to fin...
ON THE AMPACITY OF INSULATED CONDUCTORS IN CONDUIT
In the paper, a practical method for determining the smallest allowable cross-sectional area of circuit insulated conductors or single-core cables in conduit buried in a thermally insulated wall is proposed. A way to obt...
STATIC VOLTAGE SOURCE USE TO SUPPLY PARTIAL DISCHARGE MEASURING CIRCUITS AT INSTRUMENT TRANSFORMERS
The paper presents the implications of static voltage source use in the partial discharge (PD) measuring circuit at instrument transformers. The economic advantages deriving from the use of such sources must be correlate...
Analyzing Some Characteristics of a Cylinderlike Shape Fiberglass-Epoxy Resin Composite
This paper introduces a new epoxy resin based composite material, reinforced with glass fibers, called Rotasteclofirep, manufactured by S.C. Electroputere Company, Romania. The first part of this paper includes some refe...
