Digitization of Polish mining industry by reducing costs and improving safety and quality of finished product
Journal Title: Mining – Informatics, Automation and Electrical Engineering - Year 2017, Vol 531, Issue 3
Abstract
This paper presents the current level of digitization of the Polish mining industry on examples of copper and hard coal mines. A proposal to digitize the individual business processes in mining production was presented. Six basic components were defined: mineral deposit management, SOP (Sales and Operation Planning), production, machines, security, and analyses. These components define the specifics of the functioning of the mining process. New methods of collecting and processing data based on big data technology were proposed.

Study of functional performance improvements for cutting teeth mounted on bucket wheel excavators operating in Oltenia coal basin – Romania
The values of the resultant forces acting on the cutting teeth of BWEs can either be calculated or determined using experimental methods. Based on this, the position and parameters of the working organs during the cuttin...
Automatic compensation of reactive power with a system for monitoring a 6 kV electrical power grid in a mine
The paper features a concept, execution and results of a central system for automatic reactive power compensation of a 6 kV electrical power grid in a mine. The following were used as controlled compensators of reactive...
Investigation of correlation between physical properties and microstructure geometrical parameters of Cr-Cu composite material used for vacuum arcing contacts
A new microstructure quality index is proposed, suitable for Cr-Cu system metal-matrix materials used for arc-suppressing electrical contacts of vacuum switches for high voltages (10-36 кV) and high currents (20-100 кА)....
Safety of mining machinery drives – selected issues
The machines used in contemporary mining work under extremely demanding environmental and working conditions, especially when variable loads occur during the mining and transport. This causes a dynamic load occurrence, p...
