Disability as a Symbol. Anthropology of Communication to the Semantics of Disability
Journal Title: International Journal of Pedagogy, Innovation and New Technologies - Year 2016, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
The article tackles the problem of social dialogue about people with both mental disabilities and mental disorders in the perspective of anthropology of communication including Ferdynand de Saussure’s linguistic study and Mary Douglas‘s (2007) anthropological resolving. It refers to four basic questions “who, why, how, what” speaks about people with the above mentioned dysfunctions. According to the results obtained it may be stated that people do like speaking about others as they let people think about other face of humanity.
