DISPUTES ON THE ABU MUSA AND TUNB ISLANDS IN THE STRAITS OF HORMUZ

Abstract
The Persian Gulf is in a very significant position in terms of world trade. The fact that the countries in the region are rich in oil, the transfer of energy resources to the international markets and the power struggles in the Gulf region, destabilize the region. The main actor of the conflicts is Iran, who has a different sect and ethnic identity than other Muslim countries in the region. In addition to the steps to be taken with Iran to ensure stability in the region, it is crucial that the Basra which is a critical energy corridor, the Straits of Hormuz, and other economic regions that we can not think independently of each other, should function properly. After reviewing the historical background of the region, we will look at the demanded rights on the Great Tunb, Little Tunb and Abu Musa islands, particularly by the United Arab Emirates and Iran and the conjuncture of the region will be analyzed by investigating the latest situation of the problem.
