It was established a concrete diagnosis that can constitute a basis for taking measures in this regard. A reflexive review of reliable sources of information in regional scientific bases and web pages of national and international institutions recognized as regulators of the processes of the phenomenon under investigation was carried out. The state of research and doctorate academic offerings in the nursing area requires the generation of policies and actions in Ecuador to enhance the corresponding indicators that show better figures in some of its neighbors in the South American region.
