Does the progress in diagnosing Leśniowski-Crohn\'s disease correlate with the therapeutic procedures?
Journal Title: Gastroenterology Review - Year 2006, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
The progress in molecular analyses of genetic predisposition to Leśniowski-Crohn’s disease does not correlate with therapeutical progress. There is a constant comparison of “step-up” and “top-down” treatment, more and more often there is a discussion about effectiveness of steroids and benefits of using AZA and 6MP. The medical study proves more indications for biological treatment. There is also a progress in farmacogenetics as a method for prognosing the farmacological effectiveness. Unfortunately there is no really effective method of treatment in Leśniowski-Crohn’s disease. That is the reason why unconventional methods of treatment are taken into consideration.
