Abstract
Labour law is a branch of law that regulates not only employment itself but also the associated social relations. The influences of such disciplines as sociology, psychology, and economics are easily noticeable. Nowadays, an increasingly important role in the workplace is occupied by the broadly-understood appearance of workers. This is the effect of, among other things, the widespread application of employer branding strategies. A dress code is often introduced in order to unify the employer’s image and ensure easy recognition by customers. It is also a way of building the employer’s professional reputation. Although at first glance this subject might appear trivial, it does beget many important questions and doubts relevant to labour law. On the one hand, the growing frequency of interference with employees’ appearance, and, on the other, the increasing employee awareness of their rights, buttress the need for an analysis of the legal aspects of this phenomenon.
