Economy old industrial regions of Ukraine: modern understanding and realities

Abstract
It has been considered the diversity of views on the definition of "region" in the article. It has been described a new vision of the direction of the regional economy in terms of integration transformations. We describe the use of decentralization in the modern economic development of the regions as a specific method of administration. It has been considered background of old industrial regions of Ukraine and given actual definition of "old industrial region". Also, the article explores that region of Ukraine can be attributed to old industrial regions.
