EDUCAR O ENSEÑAR EN EL SIGLO XXI

Abstract
In this work there is an analyses related to the concepts of educating and teaching, in order to identify the importance of each one of the concepts in the process of human formation. In this context, it was necessary to do the analyses of schooling, teaching, education and culture terms. When exploring this terms in a broad way it was possible to identify the complementarity existing between educating and teaching. This investigation proposed to define the teacher’s role in this millennium, as a human being immersed in a social and cultural context. Based on several bibliographical postulates exploration done by current thinkers, it was done a reflection about the disjunctive that teachers have to face in XXI century, in their daily activities, whether educating or teaching. Considering that teaching is a transmission of information and knowledge, while educating is an integration of the different dimensions of human being. With the support of several authors it is able to asseverate that with an education that shows an integration between teaching and educating, in an articulated way, teachers accomplish their role nowadays.
