Educational Planes of Cartoons: The Simpsons Movie

Abstract
Television is one of the main forms of leisure. What is more, today’s cultural philosophy, education philosophy and educology pay attention to how and in what way cinema, television and new medias shape young persons’ thinking, behaviour, values and affect the socialization and individualization processes. In fact, they support or object schooling. There are some exceptional things like philosophical, educological reasoning and the research into different movies or cartoons like Simpsons or The Simpsons Movie. In academic society the Simpsons Movie is treated like a creative industry and cultural, intellectual product that needs viewers’ critical thinking to reveal the meaning. Meanwhile in everyday life this movie makes people laugh or fear for their children. The arried out investigation shows that animated Simpsons Movie can be useful for viewers’ hidden curriculum and self-directed learning. This art product forms the levels of investigation knowledge, abilities and attitudes. The analysed movie is a foreign country production, therefore while watching it the viewers develop their internationalisation competences. The investigation revealed the demand for cinema education. To satisfy this demand a new educational activity – cinema education – is needed. Its goals are to teach the viewer the media language and to realize the meaning of moving images.
