Effect of Dry Friction on Bifurcation Diagram of Furuta Pendulum
Journal Title: Strojnicky casopis - Journal of Mechanical Engineering - Year 2018, Vol 68, Issue 4
Abstract
Traditionally, the Furuta pendulum was used for testing advanced control strategies on a simple nonlinear and underactuated structure. In this paper, we investigate analytically and experimentally the dynamical description of the Furuta pendulum focusing on the effect of dry friction on a special bifurcation behaviour of the downward equilibrium position.

Identification of Fatigue Cracks on the Basis of Measurable Changes in System Dynamics
In order to obtain correct experimental results, fatigue strength tests carried out on the basis of a measurement setup using dynamic excitation generated by inertial force require test completion criterion to be speci...
PHENOMENOLOGICAL MATERIAL MODEL OF FOAM SOLIDS
n this contribution a new phenomenological model for pressure loaded foam materials is proposed. The presented relationship between compressive stresses and compressive strains is derived by using simple rheological mo...
Numerical Calculation of Overhead Power Lines Dynamics
This paper contains results of transient analysis of airflow around the ACSR power line cross-section in unsymmetric multi-span. The forces applied to the power line are obtained from CFD simulations, where the wind in...
Influence of in-Plane Deformation in Higher Order Beam Theories
Comparing Euler-Bernoulli or Tismoshenko beam theory to higher order beam theories, an essential difference can be depicted: the additional degrees of freedom accounting for out-of plane (warping) and in-plane (distort...
Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis of an Evaporative Cooling System
The use of chlorofluorocarbon based refrigerants in the air-conditioning system increases the global warming and causes the climate change. The climate change is expected to present a number of challenges for the built...
