Effect of vermicompost on plant growth and its relationship with soil properties
Journal Title: International Journal of Farming and Allied Sciences - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
Vermicomposts are rich in microbial populations and diversity, particularly fungi, bacteria and actinomycetes. The continued use of chemical fertilizers causes health and environmental hazards such as ground and surface water pollution by nitrate leaching. Compost refers to organic constituents, usually wastes, that have been mixed, piled, and moistened and undergo thermophilic decomposition that alters or decomposes the original organic materials. Many studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of vermicompost inproviding protection against various plant diseases.

In order to assess the relationship among seed and oil yield as well as determine the best indirect selection criteria to improve the seed and oil yield in canola cultivars, an experiment was conducted in the layout ra...
Genetic Diversity of 13 Maize (Zea mays L.) Hybrids based on multivariate Analysis Methods
Awareness of genetic diversity is the base of the most plant breeding programs. In this research genetic diversity of 13 of maize (Zea mays L.) hybrids was evaluated based on morphological traits as a randomized comple...
Effect of priming methods on emergence and seedling growth of maize (Zea mayze L.)
Germination and early growth under prevailing environmental conditions improves by seed priming technique. However, the information on seed priming in maize is lacking in Iran. Therefore, this study was designed to eva...
Comparison of Variable Rate Application and Uniform Distribution of Fertilization on the Yield of Forage maize
The purpose of this research is that we compare quantity used chemical fertilizer on forage corn in two ways, variable rate application and uniform distribution. Therefore we chose two tract of land. They were 1000 squ...
