Effects of the learning strategies program on reading comprehension

Abstract
Nowadays, teachers must be permanently updated to apply strategies that allow them to meet the diversity, individual and group characteristics, as well as the learning needs of their students.Among them, strategies to strengthen their fluency and reading comprehension skills.The objective of the research was to determine the effects of the learning strategies program on reading comprehension in second grade secondary school students of the "Túpac Amaru" Educational Institution of Tumbes -2020.The study is framed under the quantitative approach, using the analytical-deductive research method, presenting a non-experimental design, being of he field study type, with a descriptive level.The sample consisted of 56 students who were divided into two sections of 28 participants, who formed the Control Group and the Experimental Group. The data collection technique used was the survey and the test was applied as an instrument.The descriptive results showed in the post-test of the control group,a predominance of the medium level with 67.86%. And a prevalence of the high level with 75% in the experimental group; while the inferential results revealed a Student's t-test of 4.987 and a mean difference of 2.679 with a Sig.= 0.000 < 0.05 proving significant differences between the averages of both groups.It is concluded that the application of the learning strategies program has significant effects on reading comprehension
