Abstract

The article deals with increasing the effectiveness of treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus with diabetic foot syndrome (DFS) by applying the integrated treatment with α-lipoic acid. We evaluated the clinical efficacy of the α-lipoic acid preparation on the background of basic therapy for DFS. The positive effect of α-lipoic acid on the increasing frequency of complete regression of the inflammatory process is shown. It is proved that α-lipoic acid can be recommended for the treatment of diabetic patients with DFS, complicated by ulcerative necrotizing process.
