ELASTIC SYSTEM FOR VIBRATION LEVEL REDUCTION
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2009, Vol 54, Issue 2
Abstract
In this paper one presents the process of designing an elastic system consisting of elastic plates / slates inlaid between rail and sleeper / support plate, between support plate and sleeper, between sleeper and boxing material and between cover plate and concrete platform. Elastic plates / slates absorb vibrations / noises from railway tracks. These vibrations propagate in railway tracks as well as in the basic structure of railway and civil construction foundations in the surrounding area. Concrete railway sleeper are rigid compared with steel sleeper or still timber and so it need impact attenuation. In subway area the noise and vibrations levels are an important issue. This project is applied in SC Metrorex SA Bucharest subway network.

SIZE EFFECT ON STIFFNESS AND PULL-OFF FORCE OF THERMALLY ACTUATED GOLD CANTILEVERS
This paper focuses on revealing the size effect on the mechanical behavior (i.e. bending stiffness, Young modulus, pull-off force) of gold cantilevers with lengths ranging from 190 µm to 490 µm. We investigated the tempe...
VALIDATION OF NEW RIGID BODY DYNAMICS FORMULATION USING ROTATION MATRICES ELEMENTS AS DEPENDENT PARAMETERS − DOUBLE PENDULUM CASE STUDY
The method of using the rotation matrix elements as dependent parameters for the 3D rotation of a rigid body is currently very rarely used in multibody dynamics. Nevertheless, this redundant parameterization of 3D rotati...
VIBRATIONS ANALYSIS OF A MECHANICAL SYSTEM CONSISTING OF TWO IDENTICAL PARTS
In many technical applications (like those in automotive engineering or in structural mechanics) the mechanical system studied can be considered composed by two or many identical subsystems or parts. These kind of symmet...
ON THE ACOUSTICS OF THE STICK-SLIP PHENOMENON
In this paper, the acoustics and friction of the stick-slip phenomenon is discussed. The interaction friction-vibration gives rise to oscillations within solids which frequently lead to radiation of sound to the surround...
THE OPTIMIZATION OF FULL BAND-GAPS IN MULTILAYER FILMS
The multilayer films are consisted of alternating layers of material with different mechanical properties, following a triadic Cantor sequence. The extremely low thresholds for subharmonic generation of ultrasonic waves...
