Elección del gas natural como combustible para cocinar en Lima Metropolitana

Abstract
This research evaluates the growing choice of Natural Gas by households in Metropolitan Lima as fuel for cooking. For this purpose, information from the National Household Survey for the period 2004 to 2018 is used and Multinomial Logit models are estimated successively. From these models, the effect of an increase in income on the probability of using a different fuel for cooking (Leading Energy Hypothesis) was estimated. The results obtained show that as of 2014, an increase in the income of households that have Natural Gas reduces the probability of using other types of fuels for cooking. In contrast, between 2004 and 2010, households that used kerosene had a positive income effect, that is, an increase in their income increased the probability of using other fuels for cooking.
