Electronic structure and Fano’s antiresonance study of Cr3+ doped BIGaZYTZr fluoride glass
Journal Title: Journal of New technology and Materials - Year 2016, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
The absorption spectrum of Cr3+ in BIGaZYTZr (30BaF2-18InF3-12GaF3-20ZnF2-10YF3-6ThF4-4ZrF4) fluoride glass is characterized by the presence of features on the 4T2g(4F) absorption band. These features result from interaction of the 2Eg(2G) and 2T1g(2G) sharp levels with the vibrationally broadened 4T2g(4F) quasi-continuum via spin-orbit coupling. We have analyzed this phenomenon in the frame of the Fano’s antiresonance model. This analysis permits us to determine the electronic structure of the chromium ion Cr3+ by the crystal field theory. A good agreement between the theoretical and the experimental energy levels are obtained. The fitted parameters by Fano’s antiresonance model and the crystal field parameters obtained in this work are compared with those of homologous fluoride glasses. Keywords:

Capacitance–frequency(C-V–f) and conductance–frequency (G-V–f) characteristics of Au/n-GaN free standing Schottky structure
In this paper, we have studied Au/n-GaN freestanding Schottky structures. The growth technique of GaN used is the HVPE (Hybrid Vapor Phase Epitaxy) method. The frequency dependent capacitance–voltage (C–V–f) and conducta...
The effect of sliding speed and normal load on the friction and wear behavior of TiO2 thin films
The tribological behavior of TiO2 thin films was investigated against test parameters. The friction coefficient under different normal loads, sliding speeds, and numbers of cycles was studied using a micro-scratch tester...
Quartz sand beneficiation using magnetic and electrostatic separation to glass industries
Quartz sand of Fortuna formation was assigned to the Oligo-Miocene. This formation outcrops in Central Tunisia, particularly in the Ain Bou Morra area. The grain particle size ranges from fine to medium. The morphoscopic...
