Emission and dispersion of gaseous pollution from exhaust shafts of copper mine
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 10
Abstract
The primary objective of the study was to determine the volumes of emission and dispersion of gaseous pollution from 3 exhaust shafts of a copper mine P-VII, SW-3 and SG-2. To calculate the volumes of emission and dispersion of SO2, NO2 and CO the KOMIN and RWW computer programs were applied. The conducted analysis of the calculations and computer simulation showed that the extent of the impact of emisson on the rural residential area situated in the nearest vicinity of the shaft site is insignificant. The observed exceedance of reference values occurred on the premises of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. The computer simulation proved that the nature reserve 'Buczyna Jakubowska' situated 1.6 kms north-west of the nearest emitters belonging to the mine is not exposed to above-standard concentrations of SO2, NO2 and CO.

Statistical analysis of flood risk factors
The durability of hydrotechnical structures, especially flood embankments, depends largely on the correct identification of natural phenomena occurring in both the embankment body and the foundation. Such a phenomenon -...
GEOTECHNICAL ISSUES OF SHALLOW MINING WITHIN THE UPPER SILESIAN INDUSTRIAL REGION
Mining activity, within the Upper Silesian Industrial Region resulted in numerous mining damage - especially the discontinuous deformations. They are developed in effect of shallow coal seams extraction or are connected...
STATE OF THE ART IN TECHNOLOGIES OF THE BIOGAS PRODUCTION INCREASING DURING METHANE DIGESTION OF SEWAGE SLUDGE
At present many WWTPs are focused on increasing quantity of biogas generated during sewage sludge processing. Various disintegration methods can be used for this purpose – thermal heating, ultrasonic disintegration, chem...
DIRECTIONS OF POLDERIZATION IN THE MIDDLE BASIN OF THE ODRA RIVER
As an effective way of flood prevention it is widely accepted to construct flood embankments. These structures are getting bigger as the river changes from meandring to successive development of floodplain and narrowing...
COMPOSTING AND FERMENTATION OF BIOWASTE - ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF PROCESSES
In 2016, in EU Member States (EU), only less than half of the biowaste produced, i.e. around 40 million tonnes, was used to produce compost and, to some extent, biogas. Most of it was still incinerated or stored together...
