ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY LOGGING IN THE CONTEXT OF WATER LOGGED SOIL AND KNOB- AND-RIDGE TERRAIN
Journal Title: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Research & Developments (JMERD) - Year 2018, Vol 41, Issue 2
Abstract
Wood is an important building material. However, its major reserves are in hard-to-reach are-as, such as water-logged soils, mountain and knob-and-ridge terrains. This situation leads to large wood extraction costs, because vehicles are often out of order due to terrain complexity. Thus, there is a need to improve the efficiency of log skidding vehicles in hard-to-reach log-ging areas while reducing environmental damage. As a result, our mechanism is able to oper-ate effectively in places with hard-to-reach terrain.

TRACKING MAXIMUM POWER POINT FOR PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM USING A NOVEL DIFFERENTIAL PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION
In this paper, a new differential particle swarm optimization (DPSO) method is investigated for tracking the maximum power point (MPP) for the photovoltaic (PV) system in order to enhance the operating efficiency of the...
EFFECT OF CROSS FLOW ON MASS SUCTION IN A STRAIGHT LOUVERED FUNNEL
In this study, the effect of wind on the mass suction ratio in case of a straight louvered infra-red suppression device (IRS) has been studied using numerical simulations. Two types of configurations were studied. In the...
THE EFFECT OF ADDING CANDLENUT SHELL INTO THE LOW-RANK COAL ON COMBUSTION PERFORMANCE
The potential of coal in Indonesia approximately 151 billion tons, there are 61% of Low-rank coal (LRC), which has a Higher Heating Value (HHV) of 5,100-6,100 kcal/kg and Moisture content of 30-40%. Combustion of the LRC...
MIXING IN TURBULENT COAXIAL JET
This paper studies the mixing process in a compressible turbulent coaxial jet, using a Large Eddy Simulation (LES) type approach. Two cases were considered: Case 1, a passive scalar injected into the annular jet and Case...
ANALYSIS OF THE FAILURE-FREE OPERATION OF THE PASSIVE REDUNDANT SUBSYSTEMS OF THE AIRCRAFT WITH DUE CONSIDERATION OF THE TOLERANCES
The goal of this paper is to examine the failure-free operation of the passive redundant subsystems of the aircraft with due consideration of the tolerances for decrease of their output parameters in the cases of failure...
