ENZYMES OF ENERGY METABOLISM IN BRAIN AND CHRONIC STRESS
Journal Title: Журнал ÑтреÑÑ-физиологии и биохимии - Year 2009, Vol 5, Issue 1
Abstract
The development of changes in the activity of creatinkinase, aldolase and succinatdehydrogenase in brain cells under 30-day long stress induced by isolation and violated diurnal cycle has been studied. It was shown that these enzymes heterogeneously responded to 30-day long stress. Particular sensitivity was recorded in the case of succinatedehydrogenase, which showed the decline of activity in various sections of the brain by 60-80% on average. Unlike succinatedehydrogenase, aldolase activity increased on the 10th day of stress and then declined. Similar results were observed in relation to phosphokinase activity.

Glutathione is not involved in light-, Dark-, Ca- and H2O2- induced stomatal movement in Arabidopsis
Glutathione (GSH), is a thiol-containing tripeptide, maintains redox homeostasis in plants under normal and stressful conditions. In this study, we investigated whether GSH involved in light-, dark-, Ca- and H[sub]2[/sub...
The Effect of Priming on Germination and Seedling Growth of Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) under Salinity Stress
Salinity stress is an abiotic stress which has harmful effects on germination, growth and yield of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) in many parts of the world. Seed priming is a way of increasing salt tolerance of pla...
