Epigraphic evidence of Olbian ambassadors

Abstract
This article contains all Olbia inscriptions mentioning ambassadors. On behalf of the authorities, they asked for military help, brought contributions to the coffers of other countries, among which can safely be called Athens, Pontus and Rome. In addition, the ambassadors were taken tribute to the barbarians, so they do not ravage the city and its rural districts. Сitizens of Olbia, like other Greeks, honorary decrees mentioned in the successful implementation of diplomatic duties, among other distinguished service of the citizen. In the Greek city states was no professional ambassadors, among them elected citizens who meet the requirements for the successful execution of an order. The task standing before the ambassadors were very varied and always determined current policy of a state. But one goal in all Greek embassies was common: a sacred fit out Embassy.
