Journal Title: Туберкульоз, легеневі хвороби, ВІЛ-інфекція - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 1
Abstract
Objective — to bring to the general medical community the main causes of diagnostic errors in the choice of the method of initial radiation examination for the diagnosis of effusion in the pleural cavity. Materials and methods. The experience of using traditional Xray and ultrasonoscopy in the diagnosis of syndrome of pleural effusion is emphasized, with emphasis on its basic Xray diffraction patterns. Results and discussion. In the initial examination of 329 patients with the syndrome of pleural effusion «pneumonia» was installed and treated in 133 (40.4 %) persons. All of them were examined radiologically. At the ultrasound, there were no such mistakes. Among all (329) patients, tuberculous pleurisy was verified in 178 (54.1 %), oncology process — in 54 (16.4 %), cardiac — in 14 (4.3 %), nonspecific pleurisy — in 55 (16.7 %). Conclusions. When establishing a syndrome of pleural effusion, the most frequent false diagnosis is «pneumonia». To avoid this, it is necessary to use ultrasonoscopy as a method of primary radiation examination, for impossibility — Xray in direct and corresponding side projections. After the elimination of SPЕ, an obligatory standard Xray examination.
