Estimation and Prediction of Inverse Lomax Model via Bayesian Approach
Journal Title: Caspian Journal of Applied Sciences Research - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
Statistical analysis via Bayesian approach is a common practice applied to draw inferences about unknown parameter(s) of a probability distribution. This article includes Bayesian inference of unknown shape parameter of two-parameter inverse Lomax distribution. Bayes estimators and Bayes posterior risks for the same parameter are derived under various symmetric and asymmetric loss functions along with the use of different informative and uninformative priors. Bayesian interval estimation and hypotheses testing is also carried out for further analysis. A comparison between Bayes estimates and ML estimate is made after getting the simulated and real-data results. Further analysis consists of making predictions about an observation associated with a probability distribution using square log loss function.

A Fuzzy Logic Based Model to Predict the Fretting Fatigue Life of Aerospace Al7075-T6 Alloy
Fretting fatigue is a phenomenon which occurs when two parts are contacted to each other and one of those parts or both are subjected to cyclic load. Fretting decreases fatigue life of materials drastically. Theref...
Comparison of Estimation Methods for Frechet Distribution with Known Shape
This paper deals with the estimation of scale parameter for Frechet distribution with known shape. The Maximum likelihood estimation and Probability weighted moment estimation are discussed. Bayes estimator is obta...
Characterization of RHA /PFA/CFA Adsorbent and Its Equilibrium and Kinetic Studies for Zn2+ Removal
Zinc removal was investigated by adsorption using a mixture of rice husk ash (RHA), palm oil fuel ash (PFA) and coal fly ash (CFA). Sol-gel method was used in the preparation of RHA/PFA/CFA adsorbent. In this study...
Environmental noise pollution in Erbil City, Iraq: Monitoring and solutions
For the past fifteen years, rapid development and the increase of number of vehicles caused escalating of noise problems in Erbil City (the capital city of Iraqi Kurdistan Region). To examine the noise pollution level in...
Seasonal Abundance and Sex Ratio of Dominant Acridid Species in Ballavpur Wild Life Sanctuary of West Bengal, India (Orthoptera: Acrididae)
Acridids have a high reproductive potential and high nutritional value and may be important in energy and nutrient cycling. Seasonal abundance and sex ratio of dominant acridid species were studied on six species v...
