Euaesthetus superlatus Peyerimhoff, 1937 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae), kusak nowy dla Polski

Abstract
Euaesthetus superlatus Peyerimhoff, 1937 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae), a rove beetle new for Poland. For the first time we report the occurrence of a rove beetle Euaesthaetus superlatus Peyerimhoff in Poland. Three specimens of this species were found in Lower Silesia (SW Poland), in dry heathlands within a former military training area. The beetles were collected with pitfall traps in two open habitats: regenerating heather that had been rejuvenated by a prescribed burn two years before, and in a plot dominated by the purple moor-grass Molinia caerulea (L.) Moench. Euaesthaetus superlatus differs from its Central European congeners in inhabiting open, semi-dry or dry warm habitats, which is confirmed by our record. Habitus and male genitalia of E. superlatus are illustrated and comparative notes regarding remaining Polish species of Euaesthetus are given.
