Evaluation of correlation between parameters from CPTU and DMT tests and soil type behavior chart
Journal Title: Annals of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW. Land Reclamation - Year 2018, Vol 50, Issue 4
Abstract
This paper presents the correlation of soil parameters obtained from the dilatometer of the Marchetti (DMT) and the cone penetration tests (CPT). The data for the development of these correlations come from four experimental sites of the Department of Geotechnical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW: test embankment in Antoniny, and the Koszyce and Nielisz water dams, Stegna test site, WULS- -SGGW Campus. Additionally, the relationship between the soil behavior type classification index (Ic) from the Cone Penetration Test (CPT) and the material index (ID) from the dilatometer test (DMT) based on the Robertson method, modified in this paper, is presented. Finally, a new soil behavior type classification chart was presented, allowing to determine not only the type and condition of the soil, but also the stress history (OCR).

Influence of diaphragm wall installation in overconsolidated sandy clays on in situ stress disturbance and resulting wall deformations
Numerical modeling of deep excavations becomes a standard practice in modern geotechnical engineering. A detailed numerical model for a given case is able to reproduce major effects of soil-structure interaction by takin...
Jeden z punktów pomiarowych zlokalizowany w punkcie tz...
The changes of surface and ground water level on the effect of regulated outflow
This paper aims to analyze the variability of the levels of surface and ground water in the Ochożanka basin. The depth at which the ground water table occurred was studied with reference to the adopted land drainage stan...
Restoration of Cnidion dubii meadows on Warsaw cross-section of the Middle Vistula Valley
The studies were carried out as the part of flooded meadows’ restoration on the Warsaw cross-section of Natura 2000 site Middle Vistula Valley. They concerned determination the possibility of restoration and improvement...
The use of the 210Pb method for preliminary evaluating the sedimentation rate in Amazon river mouth
This investigation reports the preliminary results for determining the sedimentation rate at the Amazonas River mouth, Brazil, by the 210Pb method. The CIC (constant initial conentration) of unsupported/excess 210Pb mode...
