Evaluation of Prepared Polyvalent Inactivated Oil Adjuvant Vaccine of P. multocida, M. haemolytica and P. trehalosi Isolated from Ostrich
Journal Title: Journal of Animal Science Advances - Year 2014, Vol 4, Issue 1
Abstract
Pasteurellosis is one of the most important diseases affecting ostrich. This study was planned as an attempt to throw spotlights upon the prevalence of Pasteurella species among ostrich as well as preparation of a suitable polyvalent vaccine and evaluation of the resulting humoral immune response. For attending these goals samples were collected from 300 ostrich chicks and examined for incidence of Pasteurella species. The Prepared polyvalent inactivated oil adjuvant vaccine was carried out by using Pasteurella multocida serotype 9A, D2, B6, M. haemolytica and P. trehalosi. Evaluation of these prepared vaccine by determination of the humeral immune response revealed that vaccinated ostrich chicks had a significant increase in serum antibody titer after vaccination in compared with none vaccinated chicks. These obtained results acted as a preliminary studies on a production of vaccine against pasteurellosis in ostrich and need more sufficient studies for this point.
