EVALUATION OF THE FLOW ACCELERATED CORROSION OF COPPER PIPES
Journal Title: Materials Engineering - Materialove inzinierstvo (MEMI) - Year 2010, Vol 17, Issue 4
Abstract
Corrosion behavior of the Cu pipe system has been investigated by long term experiment. The two identical experimental systems were made and fulfilled by the solution of 3 % NaCl. The work medium in the first system was flowing eight hour in day and in the second the medium was stagnant. The systems were subjected eight hour in day to temperature of 80°C. After eleven month the experiment was finished and the corrosion attack and character of corrosion products in the systems have been investigated by light and SEM microscopy, EIS tests and visually too.

Mechanical properties of homogenized twin-roll cast and conventionally cast AZ31 magnesium alloys
The improvement of mechanical properties of magnesium alloys nowadays is very important, because of the variety of industrial applications. For this goal, the number of casting techniques and further treatments were deve...
MEASUREMENT OF QUENCHING INTENSITY, CALCULATION OF HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT AND GLOBAL DATABASE OF LIQUID QUENCHANTS
This paper explains the need for a database of cooling intensities for liquid quenchants, in order to predict the quench hardness, microstructure, stresses and distortion, when real engineering components of complex geom...
Microstructure and properties of cast iron after laser surface hardening
Laser surface hardening of cast iron is not trivial due to the material’s heterogeneity and coarse-grained microstructure, particularly in massive castings. Despite that, hardening of heavy moulds for automotive industry...
KINETICS OF HARDNESS CHANGES DURING AGE-HARDENING OF SILUMIN
Simple phenomenological description of age-hardening kinetics of supersaturated solid solution is presented using the sum of exponential functions with negative arguments containing rate constants, for whose temperature...
IMPACT STRENGTH AND FAILURE ANALYSIS OF WELDED DAMASCUS STEEL
The aim of this work was the experimental research of damascus steel from point of view of the structural analyze, impact strength and failure analyzes. The damascus steel was produced by method of forged welding from ST...
