Evaluation of World and Turkey Transportation Data in Terms of Marketing Activities

Abstract
Purpose: The transportation industry, whose significance is growing daily in today's context of sustained competition, is responsible for the continued growth of the nations' economies and marketing efforts. Transporting live creatures, commodities, cargo, and services is made feasible through modes including road, air, train, sea, etc. in the transportation industry. Transport methods also play a significant part in international trade in ensuring that goods manufactured to satisfy consumer wants and requirements are delivered to clients at the appropriate location and time. The transportation industry's marketing initiatives have a significant impact on both exports and imports in international trade. The Covid-19 Pandemic, which has been felt worldwide, has had an impact on not just other industries but also the transportation industry. In this regard, by evaluating the export and import statistics of the globe and Turkey in the 2017-2020 periods, it has been attempted to show the state of transportation by air, sea, rail, and road. The study also provided an evaluation of the various means of transportation in terms of marketing efforts. Materials and Methods: For this purpose, descriptive and explanatory research methods were used. First of all, information about transportation modes and marketing activities is given in the conceptual framework. Then, using the secondary data of TUIK and the World Bank, the export and import data made by transportation modes in the 2017-2020 periods were examined. Findings: According to the study's findings, there was a decline in imports and exports across all modalities in every country except China during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Additionally, from 2017 to 2019, there was a rise in transportation exports and imports, but in 2020, there was a fall. Results: This outcome is believed to be the result of the unfavorable Covid-19 outbreak that affected the whole world, as well as maybe the inefficient use of marketing initiatives.
