Everyday life and consumer behaviour of the Digital Natives generation

Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the issues of the modern generation’s functioning in an environment of new technologies, in terms of theoretical and empirical perspectives. In the first part, the author discusses some generation theories which are found in the scientific discourse and presents the characteristics that constitute the so-called modern generation. Digital natives, primarily refers to Marc Prensky’s concept of the term. Finally, the results of the research on the role and impact of digital communications and modern technologies that constitute the daily life of the “new” generation, including its consumer behaviour and shopping habits, is presented.
