Experiment on Reducing Emissions of Non-road Diesel Engine

Abstract

Effects of injection pressure,injection timing,injector hole diameter and injector nozzle protrusion on exhaust emissions from a N490 naturally aspirated direct injection diesel engine were studied in order to reduce its exhaust emissions. The results show that increasing the injection pressure effectively reduces the exhaust smoke and specific fuel consumption of the diesel engine,but it will lead to the increase of NO_Xemission.Increasing the injection timing effectively reduces the PM emission,but it will also increase NO_Xemissions.Smaller nozzle number and diameter(5×0.21 mm) matched with higher pressure fuel injection pump effectively reduce NO_Xand PM emissions. The suitable nozzle protrusion improves the emission performance of diesel engine. By optimizing and matching for the combustion system of diesel engine,NO_X+ HC,CO,PM emissions of the diesel engine decrease to 6. 23 g /( kW·h),1.109 g /( kW·h),0.522 g /( kW·h),respectively,which meets the China stage III emissions legislation of the non-road diesel engine.
