Fatigue Cracks Modeling in Structure Elements for Numerical Calculation of Fatigue Life
Journal Title: Problemy Mechatroniki. Uzbrojenie, lotnictwo, inżynieria bezpieczeństwa - Year 2012, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Presented paper includes methodology of crack modelling for numerical estimation of stress intensity factor. Furthermore, Author built MES model of specific element and carried out numerical estimation of stress intensity factor for several crack lengths. After that, author used Paris formula for estimation fatigue life of the element made from aeronautical aluminium alloy sheet 2024-T3. The main advantage of the methodology is fact that can be used for complicated shapes of structure elements and any manner of structure loading.
