FEATURES OF MODERN TECHNIQUE OF CHARACTERISTIC DANCE IN COMPARISON WITH TECHNIQUE OF CLASSICAL DANCE

Abstract
The article deals with the characteristic dance, its origin and features of the technique of execution. The specific features of the characteristic dance are determined and an explanation for the odd mismatch between the title and the content is given. The history of danse de caractere is analyzed – the literal translation of this name and gave rise to the term «characteristic dance». The modern technique of performance of characteristic dance in comparison with classical technique is described. There are differences and special equipment which is characteristic only of the characteristic dance.
