FEATURES OF THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR MIGRATION IN UKRAINE IN MODERN CONDITIONS

Abstract

The aim of the article is to study systems and geographical features of fixed mechanical migration in the context of local (regional) economic migration; regional differences in the movements of people, tracing their internal structure (interior, interregional and interstate) and analyze current state of migration policy in Ukraine. Migration policy of highly developed EU countries is directed towards the attraction of immigrants, including Ukrainians that increases migration. However, all activities of foreign countries will be useless for a Ukrainian immigrant, if he will have prospects at home as an alternative. If after the stabilization of political situation in Ukraine its economy will develop in such a way that Ukrainian migrant will be able to get a decent salary to provide normal living conditions for his family, social guarantees, favorable business environment, it will not need to look for low-skilled jobs or work with high injury rate abroad. The most promising in this regard is the development of measures for the repatriation of young people studying abroad, who can use the obtained international practices for doing business in Ukraine. The measures for the improvement of migration policy in Ukraine are offered. In the article the essence and current state of labor migration in Ukraine, in particular dynamics of emigration and immigration are studied in the article. The structure of migrant workers by gender, age, level of education and employment is specified. The authors investigated geographic focus and level of participation of different regions of Ukraine in labor migration, revealed the reasons for such distribution. The employment situation and the reproduction of labor power in Ukraine and the world, the dynamics of unemployment and wages are studied. The dynamics of remittances from abroad and their distribution by the countries are analyzed. It is proved that these transfers influence the welfare of migrant families and the economy as a whole. The comparative analysis of the migration policy of Ukraine with international practice, including the repatriation of migrant workers is carried out.
