Financial Inclusion, Focus on Romanian Migrants and their Families
Journal Title: Revista Romana de Statistica - Year 2016, Vol 64, Issue 1
Abstract
This paper aims to analyze financial inclusion of a particular segment that struggles most: the unbanked migrants, focusing on Romanian migrants and their families. It’s a common understanding that financial inclusion plays an important role in poverty reduction, economic development and growth, job creation, innovation and infrastructure. Banks have shown themselves unable or unwilling to provide relevant services to this particular segment of people and are acting to push this segment away from financial inclusion, indirectly condemn them to long-term poverty through financial exclusion.
