Abstract
The article is devoted to the clarification of the essence and content of social control and legal order in the philosophical and legal views of M. Luther, J. Calvin, J. Boden and T. Campanelli. The approaches of scientists to determining the category of legal order are analyzed. It was found out that the philosophy of the Reformation era was characterized by pragmatism, in which the world was regarded as being arranged according to the relevant rules, laws. Social order can be achieved when these laws recognize and live in accordance with them, which ensures a Christian way of life.
