GEOPHYSICAL REGIONAL GRAVITY MAPS OF TURKEY AND ITS GENERAL ASSESSMENT
Journal Title: Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration - Year 2016, Vol 153, Issue
Abstract
In this study, the maps generated from the regional gravity data, which had been measured within scope of “Türkiye Rejyonal Gravite Haritaları Projesi” (Regional Gravity Map of Turkey) project were introduced. The topography, Free Air, Bouguer gravity, isostatic residual, isostatic regional, density and crust thickness maps of Turkey in 1/1.500.000 scale were prepared using database which started in 1973 and ended in 2011. The boundaries of the main tectonic members were determined by crust thickness, isostatic residual and Bouguer gravity maps of Turkey. Within this scope, a database that will illuminate the investigation of crustal structure, the development of the scientific database and the solution of geological problems were established.
Structural properties and tectonic signifi cance of a shear zone discovered within the Tauride orogen near Alanya, SW Turkey
A major shear zone, referred to as the Yeşilöz Shear Zone, was discovered in the lower Mahmutlar Nappe of the Alanya Nappe Complex in Alanya region. The nappe shows early transposed folds with axial metamorphic foliation...
NEOGENE STRATIGRAPHY OF THE İZMİR -OUTER- BAY ISLANDS
The volcaniclastics, derived from calcalkaline acidic-intermediate volcanism in the region during late Early Miocene, and lacustrine deposits of Middle Miocene and alkaline volcanics are exposed on Uzun Island, Hekim Isl...
Geochemical and petrologic evolution of Otlakbaşı basaltic volcanism to the east of Lake Van
Collision-related Otlakbaşı volcanism to the east of Lake Van occurred by eruptions from extensional fissures. In this study, new Ar-Ar age data and major, trace and rare earth elements characteristics of the Otlakbaşı b...
VERTICAL AND HORIZANTAL ANALYSIS OF CRUSTAL STRUCTURE IN EASTERN ANATOLIA REGION
The tectonic regime of Eastern Anatolia is determined by Arabian-Eurasian continentcontinent convergence and the mechanism occurred with the convergence. North Anatolian Fault Zone (NAFZ), Eastern Anatolian Fault Zone (E...
BRIEF NOTE ON NEOGENE VOLCANISM in KEMALPAŞA–TORBALI BASIN (İZMİR)
This study was made in order to introduce Neogene volcanics the first time, which its presence has not been mentioned in previous investigations (Akdeniz et al., 1986; İnci, 1991; Kaya et al., 2007; Sözbilir et al., 2011...
