Giant osteoma of the paranasal sinuses and right orbit in a patient with trauma history in CT imaging.
Journal Title: Journal of Pre-Clinical and Clinical Research - Year 2014, Vol 8, Issue 1
Abstract
This report presents a case of giant osteoma of the right frontal and ethmoidal sinus, nasolacrimal duct and orbit in a patient with history of trauma, investigated using the computed tomography technique. The epidemiology, aetiology, diagnostic methods and treatment of the paranasal sinus osteoma have been reported, as well as discussed with the recently published data pertaining to the topic. Furthermore, the advantages of use of the computed tomography for detailed diagnosis of morphological features of the pathological changes, as well as their precise localization, have also been presented.

No effect of 7-nitroindazole on the anticonvulsant action of vigabatrin and oxcarbazepine in pentylenetetrazole-induced seizures in mice
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of 7-nitroindazole (7-NI – a preferential neuronal nitric oxide synthase inhibitor) on the protective action of oxcarbazepine (OXC) and vigabatrin (VGB) – two newer anti...
Development and validation of a capillary electrophoresis method for determination of oxcarbazepine and zonisamide in pharmaceuticals
A simple, rapid capillary electrophoretic (CE) method has been evaluated and validated for determination of two newer antiepileptic drugs: oxcarbazepine and zonisamide, as pure substances and in tablet form. The method...
Acute poisonings with non-commercial alcohol
Poisonings with alcohol of unknown origin in the material presented were of a medium severe course, and concerned relatively young people who were sometimes addicted to alcohol. These poisonings were accompanied by toxic...
Effects of infrasound generated in urban areas on health of people and animals – an attempt to localize environmental infrasound sources using computer simulations
Introduction. Inaudible but ubiquitous environmental infrasound undoubtedly affects the frame of mind and health of humans. Objective. The object of the study is to prove that civil engineering objects can be sources o...
Alantolactone and isoalantolactone suppress maximal electroshock-induced tonic seizures in mice
Introduction and objective. The aim of this study was to perform the anticonvulsant screening test to determine whether two sesquiterpene lactones (alantolactone and isoalantolactone) isolated from herbs and medic...
