GRAPHIC INTERFACES USED IN AUGMENTED REALITY SYSTEMS FOR WELDING WORKS

Abstract
Augmented reality systems due to its possibility of putting to the field of vision an additional and computer generated information are also useful at work processes, especially in technically advanced eye protectors/eye protection equipment. The basic issue during designing this types of systems is a project of graphic interface. In this work an example of designing this kind of interfaces for AR systems integrated with welding visor is presented. The method and form of displaying information cannot disturb an observation of welding area through automatic welding filter. For designed graphic interfaces, there were done research in order to evaluate the method of presenting graphics (readability and placing marks, the method of configuration etc.) and checking the users’ reactions on appearing an additional visual information in Augmented Reality Systems. The evaluation of method of presenting graphics was carried out in a survey. Checking the reaction was made by simulation – entering random information displayed in AR system during welding works. The research results allows to verify project of graphic interfaces designed for AR system integrated with welding helmet.
