Habit and attitude of nursing students on utilization of library in a selected Nursing college at Vijayapur

Abstract
Background The library is a heart of the any academic institution, colleges, university. It shapes the carrier of many students and faculties. Now a days utilization of library is minimal, the students opinion is changed towards utilization of library. Aims and objectives The study aimed at assessing the habit and attitude of nursing students regarding utilization of library. Find the correlation between habit and attitude regarding utilization of library and determine the association between habit and attitude scores with selected demographic variables. Materials and methods Habit of nursing students regarding utilization of library was assessed by rating scale, attitude was assessed by likert scale. Self administered questionnaire method was used for data collection. Results The study results shows that that 92.5% of students having average habit and 2.5% had poor habit. 87.5% students had good attitude, 12.5% had average attitude, there is a mild correlation between habit scores with attitude scores regarding utilization of library (r= 0.24), there is a significant association between class of the study with habit scores (X2=8.007, df=2), there is a significant association between class of the study with attitude scores (X2=7.61, df=2). Conclusion The study concludes that there is a need for developing good habit and attitude of nursing students towards the utilization of library. Some more study is required o generalize the findings.
